The pelvic floor is the base of our core and is made up of layers of muscle that help support our pelvic organs and maintain urinary and bowel continence.  These muscles can develop tightness or be strained just like other muscles in our body.  Damage to the pelvic floor with childbirth, surgery, or other injuries can result in conditions such as incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, or pelvic pain.  Treatments can include manual techniques, pelvic floor strengthening, pelvic floor relaxation, biofeedback, electrical stimulation, or ultrasound.
